Simple Bequest

A Simple Bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make. After talking to a legal or financial advisor, you might specify in your will, a gift be made to the Santa Barbara Audubon Society. A bequest is a revocable gift, meaning it can be changed or modified at any time.

To leave a lasting legacy, a bequest can be made in several ways:

  • Gift a specific dollar amount or asset
  • Gift a percentage of your estate
  • Make a beneficiary designation of certain assets.

Sample Bequest Language:

“I [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise and bequeath to the Santa Barbara Audubon Society [written amount in dollars, or percentage of the estate, or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose.”
