Paradiso del Mare Appeal Rejected

The county board of supervisors voted 5 to zip on Tuesday February 4th to reject the appeal supported by SBAS of the development at Paradiso del Mare. Four of our board members were among the 30 or so people who spoke in favor of the appeal.

SB Independent: Goleta ‘Hot Spots’ Lure Area Birders

Coverage of our local Christmas Bird Counts is in the Santa Barbara Independent. Birders, as committed bird-watchers call themselves, are a hardy lot. In Memoriam: Joy Parkinson

By: Florence Sanchez Joy Parkinson, long-time resident of Santa Barbara and enthusiastic birder and community activist, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013. Joy was a founding member of Santa Barbara Audubon and served several terms as its president, most notably during the 1969 Santa Barbara oil spill.
