February 26th, 7PM at Farrand Hall
Joan Easton Lentz’s most recent book, A Naturalist’s Guide to the Santa Barbara Region, is a breathtaking look at the unique geography, habitats and life in this area.
For a Santa Barbara Audubon audience, Joan needs little introduction. During her more than thirty-five years as a serious student of the natural history of the Santa Barbara Region she has been very active in our community. She organized many Christmas Bird Counts, wrote several books on the birds and natural history, and probably taught you some of your first birding lessons.
With the release of A Naturalist’s Guide to the Santa Barbara Region, Joan takes all of her knowledge and shares it with us holistically. With her partners in Stuart Wilson and Peter Gaede, the journey is also a spectacularly visual one. Her talk will feature many of the over 400 color photographs by Stuart and illustrations by Peter found in the book. Her charming and accessible approach to the material should be fun for everyone regardless of age.
A Naturalist’s Guide to the Santa Barbara Region is available in local book stores, at the Museum of Natural History, and on her website www.JoanEastonLentz.com. Copies will also be available for sale and signing before and after the program.
Join Joan for a visual journey through the region on February 26th at Farrand Hall at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. Doors open at 7PM with the program starting at 7:30.
