A special opportunity to see and bird Santa Cruz Island and support SBAS at the same time!
The Channel Islands’ isolation over thousands of years has created a unique environment for rare species of birds. This 2.5 – 3 hour kayaking and birding tour by Channel Islands Adventure Company provides the opportunity to explore Santa Cruz Island’s birding sanctuaries from the view of a kayak. You’ll paddle along the rugged shoreline and see Brandt’s and Pelagic Cormorants, Pigeon Guillemots, and California Brown Pelicans, with Peregrine Falcon or Osprey making the occasional appearance. You’ll also explore the island on foot in search of the endemic Island Scrub Jay!
This is an incredible opportunity for you to take your passion to the next level in this truly diverse and unique part of California’s coast. Beginning to experienced birders are welcome.
Have Fun AND Help SBAS at the same time! Channel Islands Adventure Co. will donate 20% of the profits from this tour to our chapter!
