Rancho Tajiguas Preserve is a 3,200+ acre ranch on the Gaviota Coast which was purchased in 2024, by the Gaviota Coast Conservancy. They provide public access via guided hikes, interpretive walks, and educational workshops. Join Santa Barbara Audubon Society’s special opportunity for an interpretive bird hike in this beautiful preserve.
This field trip is limited to 20 SBAS/GVAS Members only. Reservations Required.

Directions:
- From the south traveling Hwy 101 north – 16.3 miles north of the Fairview Avenue on ramp.
- From the north traveling Hwy 101 south – 6.1 miles from the mariposa reina overpass.
- The exit is unmarked and is at GPS 34.466025, -120.103307
- After exiting the Hwy turn right on the frontage road, Calle Real
- Bear left at the 2nd opportunity to do so
- We will meet at the entrance gate
- DO NOT BE LATE there will be no one to let you in if your are
- MAP HERE
Other Information:
- Bring water, snack
- Wear comfortable shoes
- Bring a hat
- Binoculars a must, spotting scopes are useful
